Getting Started - Workout With Your Friends

Mom’s getting started on a work out plan doesn’t have to be a scary situation. Take the opportunity to call upon the power of friendship. I hear it all the time, “i don’t want to workout by myself”. Most of the time I respond, “THEN DON’T”. Make things easy on yourself. Lord knows you deserve a break from the many number of fluids that leak out of your children. Don’t make working out a huge burden.

I currently have two workout classes that are full of women who enjoy working out together. No matter how many kids they have to bring, or pick up after it’s over. These women live close to one another, are in PTA together, friends, and neighbors. All sharing the same drive to get into, and stay in shape. They chose the easy way, and found a friend. It doesn’t matter who it is. You never know, your mother in law could be the best runner in the world.

Don’t let anything stop you. Start your own work out group now. Training can be fun, and you can control who you share that fun with.

I promised that I would leave a comment…so here it goes. Working out with friends is great. Almost everybody is at a different level, but that is okay. Actually, it is better than okay. We can inspire and be inspired at the same time. I have never worked as hard, sweat as much or looked as silly as when doing Capoeira with “The other Moms”. It didn’t matter how silly we looked because we all had great time and couldn’t stop laughing. I’m looking forward to our next class with Ernie. Who knows what we’ll be doing, but it will be fun. It always is.

I have found accountability to be what keeps me consistent in holding to a workout plan. Anytime I determine I’ve reached that point that all women come to of “I have to do something NOW,” I never stick with it. One week passes of good intentions and then I’m back to flopping on my couch with some carby-chocolate-sugar thing in my hand, crying about how fat I am. Having friends to work out with, as well as having paid someone, and not just someone, but ERNIE the man himself, to meet you at a certain time and place creates great accountability which will help you stick with it and finally get the results you’ve wanted forever. Buying home gym equipment is great if you have what it takes to keep yourself on it, however investing in a workout program such as this is a great investment in your health and a great booster for your self-confidence while providing accountability to keep you pushing forward.
