Holiday Blues
Everyone enjoys getting together with friends and family on a long, holiday weekend, and that always means a lot of food. This can be a problem for people trying to watch what they eat. Well, on this Labor Day weekend I’m here to tell you “No More”. Instead of becoming a victim of Grandma’s famous pie, and well before you cross paths with your cousin’s nacho supreme dip that could stop a horse’s heart, YOU have to take control of the situation.
Most of the problem with dieting isn’t in the diet itself. Truth is, we are our own worst enemy when it comes to our choices. Sometimes, the best thing to do is sacrafice your time, and possibly your comfort zone, and be the cook! Just imagine how good everyone in your family will look because of your famous zuccinni pie or spinach dip.
Take control of your nutrition goals and your life. Even if the traditional holiday party tends to cost you a couple weeks of work, consider being the host. There are numerous cook books and healthy recipies on-line that can make you the best cook in the neiborhood ( we hope?!), and it might not cost you another mile in the hot, August sun.
-Happy Labor Day_
